Tomorrow's Adventure

Buenos tardes.........................here is yesterday's rain. It poured for about twenty minutes. If you look real close you can actually see rain falling.

I am in a hurry. This is a quickie post and you know me..............all my pots are mini novellas. But it is almost dark and Senor is sending me on a mission very early in the morning...........in the truck.....................by myself.......................you know how I feel about the truck............love. hate. love. hate..................

So, anyways, I am going to Navajoa to the Chevy dealership to finally get the four wheel drive light repaired. It comes on. It goes off. It comes on. It goes off.

I have never driven in Mexico by myself. I am not afraid to. I am a good driver. I know where Navajoa is.

I am just nervous about it. I should not be. Senor Sabe le Todo has drawn a map. I will drive and follow the map. I will walk to the Caffenio stand and meet my friend Dulce (if she is gets off work at the XXOO in time). Maybe I will walk to the square or mercado again. Or maybe I will sit at the dealership and twittle my thumbs. I don't know yet.

Senor will stay here and pour concrete. That is good. I am really ready for this roof (part one) to get on.

So, that is it.
And did you see, there is a tropical storm now off the coast (way off, around 1,000 miles.... Tropical Storm Linda).......yikes.

Please use the drop down to the right and read the two blogs: Brenda and Roy go to Mexico and 1st Mate (One of these days I will learn how to put those links right here for you..............in the meantime, you will figure it out.) Brenda and Roy are in Guaymus and Ist Mate is in San Carlos and their updates on the situations in those towns are very moving.

I will let you know how my adventure to Navajoa goes................ adios, linda lou

Hi Linda;

Hope all went well on your "adventure" into Navojoa. The most frustrating thing for me is that there are few, if any street signs; and so one has to "count" streets in, up, or down from the "main drag" to try to figure out where to go. Also that damn diagonal street -- who's idea was that?... Getting across is a war zone! Anyway, can't wait to hear how it went!.. Emily

Hi Linda - thank you for posting about the hurricane and all of the pics. We have been in contact with friends in Guaymas and San Carlos and as you know it is very bad. We're glad you are safe at home.

emily, you are so right about that diagonal street!! my worst is trying to turn left out of Ley to get on 15. I ended up going right instead and waiting to make a u turn somewhere and head east. i did alot of driving during siesta, too and the roads were quieter.
c/m, right now I guess we can just keep hoping for the best for all those communities, it is sad and I hear some people are saying baja is even worse.
ps i am missing the cool nw weather right now, super HOT and muggy today (thursday)
