I Will Just Drop to the Floor Senor

Buenos dias. Gee whiz, it is cold here, only fifty nine degrees at nine thirty and I have a cold. So, I feel like I am freezing.

Yesterday I was working in the fake kitchen. I heard the ladder crash against the floor and went out to see what was going on. Imagine my surprise at seeing Senor hanging from the vigas and no ladder. I was terrified. But he was very calm and keeping his body very still. I quickly up righted the big ladder near his feet and he climbed on board. I asked him what he would have done if I had not been there to recuse him. He told me he would have just dropped. Well, that's seven feet onto hard concrete. I am glad I was there to save him. But I am not sure he even thanked me. That Senor, he has it all under control. If it had been me, I would have been swinging my legs and screaming help at the top of my lungs. Cool, calm, collected, oh, I will just drop to the floor Senor.

In the kitchen I had been looking for tape. As you know one of my favorite pasa tiempos  is trying to beat the ants, especially the big guys with the big guns. For awhile they seemed to have disappeared but yesterday they all moved back in with a vengeance and they were attacking the el Fuerte trees in huge numbers. The tape does the trick every time. Of course, their nest is still there and I am poring boric acid in the hole. We will see if that makes any impact. I just want them to move next door.

I know I post a picture of this every year, but it is such a conversation piece. Eventually I will blast the tree with water and remove the tape. But I just like looking at it. If the big guys are attacking your trees, this trick keeps them off, at least for me, every time.

I like that picture too. Those ants just think they're so smart until they put their little ant feet on that tape ;-)
