Will the Real Jesus Please Stand Up?

Hola! It is a lovely fall day here, a nice breeze is blowing from several different directions, and the online satellite shows possible rain manana y manana, but what does it know?

I received an email from someone who has been on the exact road that I say goes to Quiriego that the satellite says does not exist. So, I don't trust the online satellite at all. Senor, on the other hand, has total faith in it.............so, maybe it will snow.

Here is a pretty picture, taken from inside the bedroom, of the inside of the adobe wall, very nice, isn't it? I had a very interesting conversation with new old Jesus late yesterday afternoon. If you recall, there was an old mean Jesus living behind us in the little casa and suddenly, after Dia de los Muertes there is now a different Jesus back there.

New old Jesus wears Jesus' clothes, sits in Jesus' chair in the sun, watches televenovas on Jesus' television and walks over to eat at Jesus' sister's casa. I promise you this is not the real Jesus.
New old Jesus does not yell at me, he does not use a cane and he likes to talk.

So, late yesterday afternoon, I was watering the little banana plant near the new coyote fence I have put up between our yards. New old Jesus walked right up to the fence and he started this conversation, which I am pleased to report, I am certain I understood.

First he asked me how I was..............i said fine and how are you..................he said fine and how was work going on the casa.........i said fine and we are putting in new roofs..............for how many rooms he wanted to know....................and i told him 4 for now and some new walls........................and he asked if my husband was doing most of the work and i told him yes, with the help of one other person........................and he said, you had a fiesta outside at your casa the other night.....................and i said yes and he SAID..........................TIENES HUEVOS.

Now, in Espanol, that means YOU HAVE BALLS. It does not mean you have eggs. It means you have balls.

I just stood there, not sure I had heard that part of the conversation right and I am sure I had a very confused look on my face and he laughed at me. I promise you he laughed AT me and said, again..................TIENES HUEVOS.

So, I said............gracias.

He laughed AGAIN and shook his head and walked inside Jesus' little casa and turned on Jesus' little tv.

I just stood there for awhile and rethought that whole conversation and then, I rethought it again and then I went around and found Senor and told him what new old Jesus had just said to me.

We now both agree that is not Jesus..............................

I wonder what the phrase means here in Spain, I have a class tomorrow - I will ask! Not having neighbours, I miss these types of conversations!!!

HA! HA! HA! New Old Jesus has said what I have thought about you two ever since I met you. Tienes Juevos! And I'm inspired that you do - I want to have the same juevos!

Jacqui, I will be eager to hear what your teacher says and Ian, maybe that is exactly what he meant. Maybe I am taking it too seriously. Could there be a comliment in there?
